Vocational Courses

Vocational courses are a key part of the Initiative. Besides courses in Hospitality, a variety of innovative business and administration qualifications, practical craft skills and many other opportunities within the traditional curriculum for enhancement using Queensberry and other community facilities, Rural Skills at Intermediate 1 was a success story from 2008-9.

In 2009-10 Rural Skills Intermediate 2 is being piloted, so far with great success, using Queensberry Estate and other local facilities for the essential practical experiences.

Intermediate 2 Construction Skills is also a new undertaking for the Initiative, with some practical tuition being provided by a partnership with Dumfries and Galloway College, using Wallace Hall Academy premises.
